Description
BCH‑1: Phase 2 Booster PlanIntroduction:BCH‑1 is the signal layer for Bitcoin Cash.It is a standing initiative focused on identifying, supporting, and advancing serious builders and projects on BCH.Phase 1 of the BCH‑1 Hackcelerator is live. The platform, brand, and operational structure are in place. Developer submissions are open, ecosystem curation is active, and outreach to builders inside and outside the BCH ecosystem is ongoing. This campaign is focused on strengthening Phase 2 by increasing builder incentives, expanding reach, and improving execution capacity.BCH‑1 is already broadcasting BCH as the best UTXO chain to build on.The hackcelerator structure for onboarding the next generation of BCH builders is in place.BCH‑1 marketing, brand, videos, and ecosystem outreach have been shipped. What’s Been Done So Far:The BCH‑1 Hackcelerator was launched using 100 BCH from the remaining SLP fund. The initiative launched as a follow-on from Blaze Hackathon, BCH-1 aims to continue that with a stronger focus on making projects - investable, shippable and marketed.Already Done:Phase 1 is live with active developer submissions (40+ already onboarded)BCH‑1 marketing, brand, videos, and ecosystem outreach have been shipped. The BCH‑1 website has been shipped and is maintainedCashtoken Markets is operational for easier token discoveryEcosystem project showcases is ongoingBCH‑1 has published regular messaging on why BCH is structurally well-suited for application-layer growthOutreach is targeting new developer segments beyond the existing BCH communityBCH‑1 marketing, brand, videos, and ecosystem outreach have been shipped. These components are functioning and continue to operate regardless of the outcome of this campaign. For Sponsors:Contributing to this campaign will automatically make you into a sponsor, if you wish we will put you as an official sponsor, consider your sponsorship be contributing to the prize pool, if you have specific bounties you would like to deploy, we can make it happen through the prize pool. You will also be eligible for our experimental CHIP points program, these are CashToken points that we encourage you to distribute to BCH community members who do thankless work, and deserve some appreciation for the work they do, especially in amplifying BCH's social media's presense and ecosystem awareness, but are mostly doing it out of passion and do not get core developer type of reimbursement. Why We’re Raising MoreHelp me by supporting BCH-1 Hackcelerator run longer and bigger, with more after-care support for the projects involved. This campaign seeks to raise around $45,000 USD (accounting for swings in BCH price) to strengthen Phase 2 execution:$20,000 — Expanded reward pool for high-quality projects, totally the builder rewards prize pool from $20,000 to a total of $40,00$10,000 — Strategic marketing and targeted ecosystem outreach (Marketing costs, such as promotions, KOL, reserved if no good vectors found)$5,000 — Mentor compensation for technical and product guidance (Makes it easier for BCH key figures to justify spending some time helping out)$10,000 — Coordinator capacity for team support and partner development. (Yes, that's me J Master Pig)The expanded reward pool increases competitiveness with other ecosystems and helps serious teams take their builds further. Additional funds also support outreach into developer spaces beyond BCH, where prize size and mentorship access meaningfully affect participation. We will move phase 2 about 3 weeks back, to allow more devs to see the increase in prize pool, if this raise is successful.Current Budget Overview — Where the SLP Funds WentAt the conclusion of the SLP Fund, 200 BCH remained. That amount has already been fully allocated:100 BCH was used to launch BCH‑1 and fund Phase 1 (J Master Pig as coordinator and developer, Marketing Team, Website, Current prize pool of $20k)100 BCH was allocated to BCHD to support ongoing node maintenance and developmentThis campaign is separate. It does not overlap with or replace the existing BCH‑1 allocation. BCH‑1 Phase 1 is already operating with its existing budget. This raise is focused entirely on expanding capacity and builder incentives in Phase 2.How the BCH‑1 Fund Actually WorksFunds from this campaign will not be distributed automatically. No guaranteed spend: If submitted projects do not meet defined quality standards, funds will remain unused.Staged rewards: Disbursements are conditional on verified execution, not just participation.Phase 2 trigger: Prize allocations are only activated if a minimum threshold of quality is met. (The raised $20k will be ringfenced for another hackcelerator,Retroactive incentives: Secondary rewards may be issued to builders who demonstrate follow-through or launch on mainnet after the hackcelerator period. If no such outcomes emerge, the capital will either be reserved for a future cohort or returned. A public post-campaign report will disclose how all funds were handled. What’s Coming NextThe following initiatives are planned as part of the Phase 2 pipeline:A reward point system to recognize ecosystem-positive actions, including cross-promotion of other BCH projects and public builder activity, similiar to yapping on Kaito.Continued onboarding and support for teams progressing through Phase 1Technical and product mentorship for selected projectsPublic-facing showcases of qualifying submissionsPhase 2 will not begin until:At least 15 submitted projects are deemed viable as fully polished projects through reviewWe aim to end up with a target 5 projects reach a standard considered investable or ready for external support, and will help draw up the capex structure and present it to potentially interested parties who may want to invest in the BCH ecosystem. If that threshold is not met. No prize funds are distributed until these criteria are achieved.Long-Term Plans for BCH‑1BCH‑1 is designed as a standing initiative, not a one-off campaign.Planned next steps include, but depends on my output and how the initiative scales:Recurring hackcelerator sprints on an annual cycleContinued post-hack support for high-potential teamsDevelopment of BCH Atlas — a registry and tracking layer for BCH ecosystem projects, campaigns, and funding flowsAdding NFTs to CashToken Markets with a OpenSea like interfaceTools to help teams transition from prototypes to deployable Cashtoken-based applicationsCoordination with external investors for follow-on funding and growth support (ideally!)Campaign to fund decentralised BD on Bitcoin Cash to integrate BCH with the wider crypto ecosystem. E.g. Cashtokens on exchanges. The long-term intent is to create durable infrastructure around builder discovery, project visibility, and network-aligned capital deployment.Who’s Involved — and Who We’ve Reached Out ToCoordinationBCH‑1 is currently led by J Master Pig a long-time contributor to the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem:Organizer of the early Hong Kong BCH meetups (Over 100 attendees!), worked with BCA Former director of the SLP Foundation, help drive early creation of the SLP infra and ecosystemCo-creator of Spice Token and SpiceFeed (Transfered to Joemar Taganna)Collaborated with Bitcoin.com to bring USDT to SLPEarly contributor to SLP NFT-1 standards (e.g. Juungle)Built one of the first Telegram-native NFT games on BCH: Enter The Sphere (Reactivating)Fundraising in the crypto world outside of BCH, Near Protocol, ArbitrumCo-founder of Arbius.ai (AI inference protocol) (Left)Former Lead Dev of HeyAmica.com, an open-source AI companion system (Left) (1000+ stars on Github)TeamA small social media team contributes part-time AI tools are used to increase output efficiency, but additional help is still needed for outreach, builder support, and partner coordinationI really need help lol, so if you are reading this and don't pledge, know that i'm drowning in work and would appreciate any help.Partnerships and OutreachTransitioned directly from Blaze HackathonPartnered with the Bitcoin Cash PodcastCoordinating with projects like Cauldron DEX, Parity USD.Outreach to General Protocols, Paytacca and other polished BCH teamsContinuing outreach to BCH-aligned and external teams with build-ready productsFinal Note: I want to emphasize, i'm taking on quite a lot, it might sound like the ask is a bit large, but $40k is still a small hackathon by web3 standards, let alone an accelerator program. I'm doing it because i'm sold that BCH could be something much larger fairly soon.It makes me incredibly apprehensive to ask for 90 BCH . My dream with other BCHers is one day $50k isn't considered a large amount in BCH, even with this budget, I will still be doing a lot of things alone, like my fellow BCHers : )) It is my hope that people will see the value of what Blaze, BCH-1 and Bliss (and other nascent programs) is doing for BCH and we'll eventually build pipelines to rival the mechanisms they have on well funded cryptos like BTC. We won't get there in a week or even a few months, but I think if we can build this stuff and get outsider investors interested, then we'll solve a whole host of things on BCH that hinders its ecosystem from truly scaling and competing on a global scale.
