BCH‑1: Phase 2 Booster Plan
Description
IntroductionBCH‑1 brings developers to Bitcoin Cash and helps them ship.We find serious builders, provide resources and mentorship, and help them polish their products to an investable state.Bitcoin Cash has real technical capabilities, but the outside world doesn't see it yet. When polished, fundable projects start launching on BCH, that changes. BCH-1 exists to make that visible.Phase 1 of the BCH-1 Hackcelerator is already live, submissions are open, outreach is ongoing, and the platform is operational. This campaign raises funds to expand Phase 2 with a larger prize pool, broader outreach, and better support for the teams that make it through. What’s Been Done So Far:BCH-1 was launched in September. We worked with Blaze to transition their progression directly onto the hackcelerator. To date:Phase 1 is live with active developer submissions (114 Developers, 20 projects submitted at time of this writing) (https://dorahacks.io/hackathon/bch-1-hackcelerator/detail)The BCH‑1 website has been shipped and is maintained (https://bch-1.org)Cashtoken Markets is operational for easier token discovery(https://cashtokenmarkets.bch-1.org) For months, BCH‑1 has published regular messaging on why BCH is structurally well-suited for application-layer growth (https://x.com/bch_1_official) Prize Pool of $20,000 LockedInitial Example Projects Submitted:FlowGuard — Payment streaming for BCH and CashTokens (similar to Sablier)NexOps — AI-assisted IDE for CashScript with contract testing and auditingRoastMyBag — Viral token sharing using BCH's unique capabilitiesOPTN Labs — Smart contract marketplace and plug and play mobile walletFun(d) Tokens — Bundle multiple tokens in a single transactionBCHUBkey — Token-gated access control for communitiesCashDropKit — CashToken Airdrop tools built on BCH's scalable L1 featuresSecureVote — CashTokens, On-chain voting (similar to Snapshot)All contributors become sponsors. If you'd like to be listed publicly on our website, let us know. Your contribution goes to the prize pool—and if you have specific bounties in mind, we can work with you to deploy them. Why We’re Raising More:This campaign raises $40,000 USD to expand Phase 2:$20,000 — Prize pool expansion (doubles the builder rewards from $20k to $40k total)$7,500 — Marketing and outreach (promotions, KOLs, reaching developers outside BCH)$5,000 — Mentor compensation (technical and product guidance from BCH ecosystem leaders)$7,500 — Coordinator (team support, partner development, operational capacity)50% of funds raised goes directly to builders. A larger prize pool makes BCH-1 competitive with other ecosystem accelerators and gives serious teams a reason to build here.Current Budget Overview — Where the SLP Funds Went:At the conclusion of the SLP Fund, 200 BCH remained. That amount has been fully allocated:100 BCH — Launched BCH-1 and funded Phase 1 (coordinator, marketing team, website, $20k prize pool)100 BCH — Allocated to BCHD for node maintenance and developmentPhase 1 is already funded and operational. This campaign is separate—it expands Phase 2, not replace existing allocation. How the BCH‑1 Fund Actually Works:Funds from this campaign will not be distributed automatically. If projects don't meet quality standards, funds remain unspentIf quality thresholds aren't met, capital is reserved for future cohorts or returnedBuilders who launch on mainnet after the program may receive retroactive rewardsA public post-campaign report will disclose how all funds were handled. What’s Coming Next:The following initiatives are planned as part of the Phase 2 pipeline:A reward point system to recognize ecosystem-positive actions, including cross-promotion of other BCH projects and public builder activity.Continued onboarding and support for teams progressing through Phase 1Technical and product mentorship for selected projectsPublic-facing showcases of qualifying submissionsPhase 2 will not begin until:At least 15 submitted projects are deemed viable as fully polished projects through reviewWe aim to end up with a target 5 projects reach a standard considered investable or ready for external support, and will help draw up the capex structure and present it to potentially interested parties who may want to invest in the BCH ecosystem. If that threshold is not met.No raised prize funds are distributed until these criteria are achieved.Long-Term Plans for BCH‑1:BCH-1 is a standing initiative, not a one-off campaign.Recurring hackcelerator sprints (annual cycle)Post-program support for high-potential teamsBCH Atlas — a registry for BCH ecosystem projects, campaigns, and fundingNFT support for CashToken MarketsCoordination with external investors for follow-on fundingThe long-term intent is to create durable infrastructure around builder discovery, project visibility, and network-aligned capital deployment.Who’s Involved — and Who We’ve Reached Out To:CoordinationBCH‑1 is currently led by J Master Pig a long-time contributor to the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem:You can watch his podcast here with Jeremy: youtube.com/watch?v=V7WGmRF9lCU Organizer of the early Hong Kong BCH meetups (Over 100 attendees!), worked with BCAFormer director of the SLP Foundation, help drive early creation of the SLP infra and ecosystemCo-creator of Spice Token and SpiceFeed (Transfered to Joemar Taganna)Collaborated with Bitcoin.com to bring USDT to SLPEarly contributor to SLP NFT-1 standards (e.g. Juungle)Built one of the first Telegram-native NFT games on BCH: Enter The Sphere Fundraising in the crypto world outside of BCH, Near Protocol, ArbitrumCo-founder of Arbius.ai (AI inference protocol) (Left)Former Lead of HeyAmica.com, an open-source AI companion system (Left) (1000+ stars on Github)TeamA small social media team contributes part-timeAI tools are used to increase output efficiency, but additional help is still needed for outreach, builder support, and partner coordinationPartnerships and OutreachSponsored and transitioned directly from Blaze HackathonPartnered with the Bitcoin Cash PodcastCoordinating with projects like Cauldron DEXOutreach to General Protocols, Paytacca and other polished BCH teamsContinuing outreach to BCH-aligned and external teams with build-ready productsCommunity Support:Bitcoincashautist: “ J Master Pig has had good reputation in my book since 2020, which he's re-confirmed through smartly building out BCH-1 and delivering meaningful community proof of work. I trust he'll put the raised capital to good use, looking forward to seeing what he'll deliver”ShadowofHarbinger: "BCH-1 is the missing link between developers and delivery, it can bring real value to Bitcoin Cash and Crypto by accelerating funding and connecting people who ship code with people who ship real life-useful products"Jeremy: "I am impressed with the work BCH-1 has been doing so far, since the very inception there has been communication with me about how it can best serve the community and feedback has been noted and implemented. My key objective for it is to become a next-step for BLAZE builders to convert their enthusiasm and prototypes into launched MVPs, and in that regard it's looking good so far. The list of Phase 1 projects already includes several newcomers to BCH that got started in BLAZE, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how far they can get with a little extra support. /someone needs to run this kind of project, and J Master Pig is stepping up to be that person."
