Description

Introduction The Philippines is one of the fastest-growing markets for digital payments, but blockchain education is still limited to theory. Few students get the chance to work hands-on with real blockchain tools.Bitcoin Cash offers something unique: fast, low-cost, permissionless transactions and programmable money. By teaching CashTokens and CashScript, we are giving young developers the skills to create practical blockchain applications for payments, commerce, and beyond. This isn’t just about training—it’s about building capacity in communities where blockchain adoption can make the biggest difference. Workshop Content Each workshop runs for 2 full days and is designed to combine fundamentals, hands-on practice, and collaborative building. By the end of the workshop, participants will not just understand blockchain concepts—they will have built working prototypes that showcase Bitcoin Cash utility. Day 1: Foundations & Smart Contracts Morning Session: Introduction Blockchain Fundamentals: Understanding distributed ledgers and consensus Cryptography Basics: Public/private keys, digital signatures, and hashing Bitcoin Cash: History, features, and advantages UTXO Model: Understanding unspent transaction outputs Smart Contracts: Introduction to programmable money Afternoon Session: Cashscript Development Cashscript Language: Syntax, operators, and data types Contract Structure: Input/output validation and conditions Practical Examples: Building basic smart contracts Testing & Deployment: Tools and best practices Day 2: Framework Integration & Group Projects Morning Session: Quasar Framework Quasar Overview: Introduction to the framework Cashscript Integration: Using smart contracts in Quasar applications Frontend Development: Building user interfaces for smart contracts State Management: Handling contract interactions and wallet connections Afternoon Session: Group Projects Team Formation: Students self-organize into groups Project Selection: Choose from provided application templates or propose custom ideas Development Time: Hands-on building with instructor support Presentations: Groups showcase their applications All workshop content is published in a public repository: 🔗 github.com/paytaca/cashscript-workshop This ensures that the materials are not only used in our 12 schools but can also serve as a reference and toolkit for organizers worldwide. Anyone who wants to conduct similar workshops can freely access, adapt, and build upon these resources—expanding the reach and impact of Bitcoin Cash education far beyond the Philippines. Who We Are The workshops are organized by Paytaca. We are a Philippine-based Bitcoin Cash wallet and ecosystem builder, together with SciBiz Informatics, a blockchain and AI startup studio. Paytaca has onboarded hundreds of merchants, rolled out point-of-sale systems, and sponsored tech community events across the Visayas. SciBiz Informatics builds solutions ranging from payment hubs to tokenized platforms. With our track record and grassroots presence, we are well-positioned to deliver credible and impactful blockchain education. Meet the Trainers Our workshops are designed and conducted by the same developers who have been building real Bitcoin Cash applications. They’re not just teaching theory—they’re sharing battle-tested experience from projects already in use today. 👨‍💻 Joemar TagannaCEO & CTO of Paytaca, CTO of PurelyPeer, founder of SciBiz Informatics 👨‍💻 Jeff Khirvy Kyell SarmenDeveloper behind Paytaca Marketplace, StableHedge, and the AnyHedge integration in Paytaca. 👨‍💻 Ronaldo RamanoCreator of CashTokens Studio and developer of Multisig Wallet support in Paytaca. 👨‍💻 Jethro AlbanoEngineer of the backend and smart contracts powering PurelyPeer, a BCH-powered geolocation game. 👨‍💻 Edcel Marie BaliteDeveloper of the Paytaca P2P Exchange, bringing peer-to-peer crypto trading to grassroots communities. Participation Over the past three weeks, we have personally reached out to colleges and universities in Tacloban, Ormoc, and Cebu. The response has been overwhelming—12 institutions have already confirmed their participation in our Blockchain Tech Workshops. This means the program is fully greenlit; all that remains is execution.
