Bitcoin Verde 2025 Upgrade

Since 2018, Bitcoin Verde is a full-node implementation of the Bitcoin Cash protocol. Fully indexed, Bitcoin Verde is a unique, from the ground-up, node implementation written in Java. Bitcoin Verde provides a block explorer, development library, and network implementation diversification.

For the past 18 months, Bitcoin Verde has been migrating its internal database system from MariaDB to LevelDB to achieve higher transaction processing performance and resolve stability issues on some platforms. As of September 2024, explorer.bitcoinverde.org has proven to be stable and its database upgrade nearing ready for pre-release.

Bitcoin Verde is looking to secure funding to implement the 2025 BCH Upgrade, supporting both the CHIP-2024-07-BigInt and CHIP-2021-05-vm-limits CHIPs. Aligned with the foundational premise of Bitcoin Verde's creation (node implementation diversity), we are also looking to immediately (October 2024) provide a POC implementation of these CHIPs to facilitate research, adoption, and implementation diversity to these CHIPs prior to its proposed activation in 2025.

This is a second attempt at the Bitcoin Verde 2024 funding flipstarter; the first flipstarter had an aggressive timeline for completion which has been removed in exchange for a smaller overall funding cost.
